Request For Release On Parole Or Order Of Supervision

Many people who are detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are not eligible for bond; however, they may be eligible for release from detention either on parole or on an order of supervision. Many individuals who present themselves at a port of entry and request asylum are granted parole if they have a fear of returning to their country of origin and they have a sponsor in the United States, who is a United States citizen or a lawful permanent resident. Serving Immigrants, Inc. also assists immigrants detained by ICE who have final orders of deportation but their country of origin will not accept them. ICE by law is only permitted to detain individuals with final orders of removal for a maximum of ninety (90) days.
